The New Serato DJ Library Beta Is Open

The moment DJs have been waiting for is finally here…almost.

Serato has officially opened the public Beta for its all-new library in Serato DJ Pro and Lite 4.0 and it’s everything you’ve been asking for, marking the most significant upgrade to library management in our history.

Years in the making and shaped by deep community feedback, this update delivers a smarter, faster, and more visual way to organize and navigate your music collection.

Built With DJs, For DJs

From Reddit threads to support tickets to one-on-one conversations, we’ve been listening. You asked for a better library — so we rebuilt it from the ground up. The result is a reimagined library experience designed to make organizing your music easier, faster, and more personalized than ever before.

Here’s what’s new:

Track RatingUse the new Track Rating feature to rate your songs directly in the library. Your ratings appear in the new Rating column, which you can customize with stars or emoji* you like.

*Country flag emojis are not available on Windows

Crate SearchQuickly find the crate you need with the new Crate Search. A faster way to navigate your Crate List and jump straight to the right crate. Please note, this feature is exclusively available in DJ Pro.

Favorite CratesCreate a shortcut to your go-to crates and pin them to the top of your library for quick access.

Show Track in CratesRight click on a track and select “Show in Crates” to see all Crates that particular track is in.

Crate ColorCustomize your Crates with colors from a right click color palette.

Sort CratesSort your crates in the order that best suits you. Choose from Alphabetical, Date Created or Custom.

Crate InfoSpeed up the time it takes to prep your DJ set by instantly knowing how many tracks, the total time and the size of a crate, displayed in the Status Bar.

Album ArtworkAlbum art just got more flexible, now you can resize it in your library. Zoom in for detail, or shrink it to keep your view clean and compact.

Analyze on Import
Enable this feature to automatically analyze things such as BPM and KEY when adding new files to your Serato DJ library.

Analyze with Hardware Connected
Tracks continue to analyze things such as BPM and KEY while still connected to hardware.

Streaming Tracks in Crates
Add streaming tracks to your crates and browse local and streaming music all in one place.

As well as the features mentioned above, enjoy these familiar Serato additions coming to DJ Lite: Played tracks now offer more flexibility — choose how they appear in your library with customizable colors like green, gray, or no color at all. You can now view your recent sets in the history panel, and choose to display your tracks’ keys in Camelot or Alphanumeric.

Be the First to Test It: Join the Beta

This is the biggest library update we’ve ever done. But before it hits the world, we want you in it. Serato is inviting DJs around the world to test the Beta and help fine-tune it for full release. Whether you’re a Pro user prepping for a festival set or a Lite user building your first crate, this Beta is for you.

But before you do, make sure to check the minimum system requirements, and back up your library—just in case. Learn how to back up your library here.

Take it for a spin and help shape the future of Serato. Built by DJs. With DJs. For DJs.
