Fresh Finds | October: Headlining and Redlining

It’s arrived, you’re here. The height of the party. You need tunes to complement that vibe, which generally means it’s time to go big and heavy on the decks.

These are our favourite tracks from October to push your speakers to the edge.

Baauer – Swoopin (RL Grime Edit)

It’s absolutely what you expect. The heaviness and intricacies of Baauer production flipped to the extreme with the festival spec of RL Grime energy. 

Honestly, take it easy on the speakers with this one. Don’t cause an earthquake.

Habstrakt x Badjokes – Right Here

House music, but make it heavy.

It’s four to the floor, perfectly for cutting some shapes on the floor. But the bass synths are heavy enough to resemble dubstep, which gives you the best of both worlds. 

Nothing short of epic.

Quix x Juelz – Chicane

New Zealand bass lord and Vancouver producer combine for some heavy, techy trap. 

The drop section is riddled with metallic arpeggiators and robotic vocal glitches. The drums switch up from half time to a bounce beat and back again. 

Yep – it’s face melting.

DJ Fixx – Drop Top

DJ Fixx takes Migos’ vocals and turns it on its head for ‘Drop Top’. It goes from hip hop, to bass music and back again. 

There’s parts for people to sing (rap) too, and parts for people to put their neck out on the dance floor too. Meaning if you’re the DJ, it’s the centre of the venn diagram.

Brohug – Savior

Brohug takes house music to a heavier place. Savior ebbs and flows through shining vocal tracks with mellow synths, all the way through to pounding drums and bass stabs. 

If you’re looking for an order suggestion, this might be a good one to start off with.
