Fresh Finds | August: Come Alive

You’ve got to ease into listening to the big, heavy bass tracks. Before the 808s start shaking your silverware, bridge the gap with some tracks that get the blood rushing just the right amount.

You can stream these tracks in Serato DJ Pro and Serato DJ Lite now. Or listen here on Spotify.

Boys Noize – MVINLINE

Released on coveted house music imprint Defected Records, Boys Noize recently unveiled the funk inspired house jam ‘MVINLINE’.

The track samples Black Ivory’s 1979 disco hit ‘Mainline’, and is a stark contrast to the music of Boys Noize that we’ve become familiar with. Moving away from the dark, explosive warehouse bass music, this one is a bit more funky.

Perfect for setting the scene, also a great gateway to play some of heavier music from his catalogue (the STRICTLY BVNKER EP is a great spot for that).

Marcus Kech – LUX

Marcus Kech is a man of many talents. The Melbourne based producer, performer, songwriter, singer and multiinstrumentalist (wow) recently released his new single, LUX.

LUX is a sample driven house groover – featuring vocals from the man himself, it’s a progressive beat that is sure to get heads moving. The bass line is infectious and there’s layers of live guitar and saxophone that bring a live feel to the table.

Disclosure – Energy

Brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence, who combine to form UK house heavyweight Disclosure, recently released ‘Energy’, the single from their forthcoming record of the same name.

The track is a tribal house anthem, featuring a lot of wood based percussion that creates a vibe to dance around the campfire too. It’s perfect for starting the night off, but if you inserted it during the dancing hours, it’d sit nicely there too.

L’Imperatrice – Fou (Poolside Remix)

The French disco pop band recently gave their track Fou the poolside treatment. That essentially means it’s a synth soaked progressive heater, perfect for soundtracking a day in the sun.

It also means it’s perfect for starting the party. This could potentially even be the first track you play when you jump on the AUX.

Detroit Swindle – Coffee in the Morning

Not long ago, the Dutch house duo released ‘Coffee in the Morning’ – an EP featuring the lead track, as well as a dub remix and radio edit, and supporting single ‘Move Out the Way’.

The EP is soaked in Jazz nostalgia, boasting horns and live bass sounds that transport you to 5PM, no matter the time.

Pour up a glass and soak up the sun, even if it’s dark.
