How to DJ with Spotify in Serato DJ Lite & Pro | Official Guide
The wait is over: Spotify streaming is now integrated into Serato DJ Pro and Serato DJ Lite. One of our most requested features, this update means DJs can connect their Spotify Premium account and unlock millions of tracks, from curated playlists to your own “Liked Songs,” all inside Serato. Your Spotify library now lives right alongside your local files, ready to mix the moment inspiration strikes.
Ready to try it? Here’s how to get started DJing with Spotify in Serato DJ. Watch the tutorial video here, or follow the instructions below.
Step 1: Update & Connect
Make sure you’ve downloaded the latest version of Serato DJ Pro or Serato DJ Lite (3.3.5 or later).
Open Serato, head to Setup – Library & Display – Spotify, and log in with your Spotify Premium account. You’ll be redirected to Spotify’s site to authorize your computer, then returned to Serato with streaming enabled.
Step 2: Explore Your Library
Once connected, all the music you know and love flows into Serato.
- Your Spotify playlists, “Liked Songs,” and favorites appear in the library panel alongside your crates.
- Spotify’s curated playlists are available too, giving you fresh tracks to flip into your sets.
- To add a new Spotify playlist, like it in Spotify first. It’ll then show up in Serato the next time you open the software.
Step 3: Search & Mix
Tap the Spotify logo in Serato’s search bar to explore the full Spotify catalog, right next to your local files. Drag tracks onto your virtual decks, cue them up, and start mixing.
Spotify streaming files are stored in the cloud, so you’ll need an active WiFi connection. As with all streaming services in Serato, Spotify tracks can’t be recorded, stored offline, bulk-analyzed, or used with Stems (except TIDAL), but everything else is ready to go.
